We aim to make a difference

Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for charities, supported local businesses and helped inspire the next generation of technology experts thanks to our work experience placements.

The EPOS Bureau aims to exceed the norm in both our work and our community engagement. That’s why we are always actively seeking out new ways that we can help create the best society alongside our friends, neighbours, and colleagues

Our responsibilities fall into three broad areas:

  • Investing in Our Community
  • Supporting Local and National Charities
  • Taking Care of Our Team and Our Customers

And here is how we do it:

Investing in our community

Junior Entrepreneur Programme

Junior Entrepreneur Programme

The EPOS Bureau is proud to support the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. The scheme has alumni of over 26,000 children who have been inspired to create entrepreneurial businesses right inside their classrooms throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Every child proposes an idea and, during the 12-16 week programme, one suggestion is selected as the class business. Each child invests a small amount of capital in the enterprise and receives their share of the profits. Not just a plan, the entire business is conceived from scratch with real products and services and crucially, real customers who pay for what is produced during the school showcase day.

Supporting Charitable Giving

Each year we choose a different charity to support in an effort to spread valuable financial contributions across a range of good causes.

Our chosen charity is: Diabetes UK

Conquering Cuilcagh Mountain

Diabetes is a serious condition where your blood glucose level is too high. There are two main types, Type 1 and Type 2. They are different conditions, but they’re both serious. There are some other rarer types of diabetes too.

Racing the Thames

The race is on to cover the length of the Thames in one week in aid of London Youth Rowing.

Our team (ClearCourse Retail) is taking part in Race the Thames Virtual 2022 and is made up of colleagues from Swan Retail, The EPOS Bureau, TISSL, and Touchretail. They will compete with 10 other teams from across ClearCourse, plus many other teams taking part in the race.

To complete the challenge, our team of 8 will be racing the distance of the Thames by rowing, running, or cycling 346km in a week.

Race the Thames 2022

This is the annual fundraising event run by London Youth Rowing (LYR). The money raised will be used to help support LYR’s work in London and Leeds. LYR’s programmes allow young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to take part in rowing, giving them the benefit of participating in the sport and allowing them to fulfill their potential.

London Youth Rowing

LYR is a groundbreaking sports charity, which aims to develop young people through physical activity and open access to rowing at all levels. They work with over 50 schools in the London area, and 20 in Leeds. Last year, over 5,500 participants took part in their programmes.

Race the Thames will take place between 24th and 31st January. Each team is aiming to raise £400 for this fantastic charity.

We wish our team and everyone else taking part the best of luck!
